THE FOUNDATIONS OF MĀORI BODYWORK AND HEALING
JOLIE DAVIS KAIMIRIMIRI
Jolie Davis (Ngati Kurī/Te Rarawa) traditionally trained kaimiri, founder, educator and lead practitioner at Manawa Ora, the largest provider of Rongoā Māori in the Wellington Region and one of the most trusted and recognised brands of Rongoā Māori in New Zealand.
Jolie has over 30 years experience in mirimiri and romiromi (Māori bodywork and healing) as well as her advocacy and work revitalising rongoā Māori as demand for holistic and culturally appropriate treatment and care grows. The Manawa Ora Foundations 2-day workshop shares traditional knowledge, practice and philosophy and is suitable for anyone on their own journey of self-discovery, reconnection and healing. This workshop also benefits mainstream practitioners and kaimahi by enhancing cultural understanding to better support and engage with whānau. It is now time to bring rongoā Māori out of the dark and empower people to achieve and maintain wellbeing.

TESTIMONIALS
…. "I had the deep pleasure and privilege of attending the Mirimiri Foundations workshop in July. It was a soul-enriching weekend learning about Māori spirituality and how it connects to healing; listening to and being guided by our intuitive knowing; and practicing bodywork on one another. Jolie is a powerful force and in her presence you feel seen, supported, and challenged in the best way. Over the two days, everyone in the group seemed to go through their own journey of awakening; understanding how we can, and need, to first heal ourselves.
I've taken so much from the course, inspired to reclaim my mana and move forward with aroha. (And have already practiced some mirimiri on friends.) I highlyyy recommend this workshop to anyone. Thank you Manawa Ora team!”

“Two day Wananga left me feeling both grounded and uplifted. The experience was calm, yet deeply energising-a rare balance that made space for reflection, learning, and connection. What stood out most was the sense of whanaungatanga. Surrounded by like minded people, there was a shared warmth and openness that made the wānanga feel genuinely safe and supportive. Everyone brought their full selves, and in doing so, lifted each other. Spiritually, the wānanga offered moments of real depth and insight - in a gentle affirming way. I left feeling connected to myself, to others, and to a bigger sense of purpose. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of being in the right space, at the right time"

“I thoroughly enjoyed this wananga. It was comprehensive, learning the philosophy behind mirimiri and romiromi. “My heart is full. I have a deeper connection to myself at a level beyond what I can currently describe. I am still processing the healing, the experience and the depth of what the Manawa Ora Workshop opened up for me and gave to me. I know I'm not the only one. This was 2 days of being immersed in the wisdom of my Tupuna. As a collective we supported each other on our journeys through sharing, laughing, crying and more. I have ventured around the world, but it was within these 2 days that I received mana from this beautiful group and healed and released beliefs that were causing resistance to connecting deeper with being Māori. If this even slightly resonates, I highly recommend being curious and connecting with Manawa Ora for healing and/or pause and listen to those nudges to join a workshop.”
