Manawa Ora Mirimiri facilitates workplace training; Wellbeing from a cultural or Te Ao Māori perspective.

Modern-day lifestyles, increased workloads, uncertain futures and the ongoing COVID situation often means that many people are dealing with high levels of stress and emotional/mental/physical symptoms and stress-related conditions. As a result, many of us are struggling to cope and living in permanent ‘survival mode’.

Many employers and organisations are now recognising the importance of establishing a culture of wellness within the workplace and looking to provide access to resources and training.

The workshop is an introduction to Rongoā Māori, Mirimiri and Romiromi.  Jolie Davis shares some of her personal challenges from her nursing career to current-day practicing Kaimirimiri and educator in Te Ao Māori. She teaches wellness from a uniquely cultural perspective including the philosophies of practice and the importance of SELF CARE.

Training packages can be tailored to specific issues or needs, and are especially beneficial for people (both Māori and non-Māori) who work in health, community, education or social services.

“I just wanted to thank you again for your amazing presentation at the ORA Quarterly Meeting yesterday.

Your words and wisdom resonated with so many clinicians, who have expressed their appreciation in being able to hear a different voice in the health world.

People spoke of ‘feeling re-energised’ hearing your speak.  (and you did it all without the power point!) We will be mindful of the ACC pathway to Manawa Ora.

Thanks again for helping us build our knowledge of other ways to wellbeing and health!”……Jacinta Bowler, Wellington

Training Day Review:

“Is it me or did I just attend the most insightful course ever! I must admit I was sceptical at first but was prepared to come in with an ‘open mind’……thank you all for sharing your experiences and having the trust with one another.  It was great to see the aroha within the our ‘Group Mana’ and how easily we congregated amongst each other, without hesitation.

Jolie Davis you’re simply amazing, my traps and shoulders seem to be at ease without pain, both physically and emotionally, I have carried the past far too long and its time to live in the now and present!” - Tea Lutau, Porirua City Council
